UK Times Deletes Negative Obama Comments

How curious that the Times Online UK story about Michelle Obama touching the Queen has only glowing, oopy-goopy sweet comments about how wonderful both Michelle and the Queen are and la la la. (Oddly, the Times lists the story as one of their “most commented on” but when we first read their slavering coverage, there were only 33 comments.)

Yet various media outlets have used these very comments as evidence that it is no big deal that Michelle touched the Queen. They adamantly report that public has nothing negative to say about it whatsoever! Or as that paragon of anchorhood Contessa Brewer said on MSNBC over and over and over and over, it proves “who cares?!”

So we sent in a moderately negative/humorous comment saying that it’s good to know that the Queen’s warmth will now permit people to touch her, so that people may now be able to slip in a hug, a European-style kiss kiss or even a little Italian-style pinch without offending her.

But the comment never appeared, though the comment count over the course of an hour rose to 35.

So we sent in another comment saying the comment moderator’s world was so wonderfully rose-colored that he/she apparently doesn’t see any negative comments coming in at all.

An hour later the glowing comment count has risen to 36. No negatives. Only sweetness and light is permitted to be discussed at the Times UK rag. That’s journalism for you.
