Specter Defection Will Haunt Dems On Souter Replacement
Per this post at the blog Legal Insurrection, Specter was the Democrats’ necessary single minority vote on the Judiciary Committee to end a committee level filibuster.
But the blogger frets that Lindsey Graham would likely step into Specter’s wishy-washy go-along-to-get-along self-glorification shoes.
Ah, but if Flimsey were nominated to the Supreme Court, it would be a win-win. Dems get their Souter-esque, reliably squishy-feely vote, and South Carolina finally gets two Republican Senators.
